Ed designed Stabo's Wax Cag, he had a keen idea of what he wanted and just kept plugging away until he had created the jacket he wanted to wear. Unique in the waxed jacket market this coat has a deceptively simple appearance but is incredibly functional, well designed and looks really cool too.
Aping the style of the cagoule; the brightly coloured nylon, wet weather uniform our generation wore when we were kids, this jacket takes that idea and re-works it in a totally unexpected material; waxed cotton. Made from dark Olive Green waxed cotton. The wax finish creates and wind and rain proof barrier. Gradually the wax is worn away but can easily replaced with reproofing wax. Similarly if you did ever tear the jacket (hiding in a gorse thicket for example) you could simply sew a cotton patch onto the jacket proof it with wax and the jacket is easily and cheaply mended.
The splash-proof zips (also made in the UK) eliminate the need for storm flaps thus simplifying the jacket whilst not compromising on performance. The jacket has a roomy design so that in winter you can fit warm layers beneath it and in summer it is well ventilated.
With raglan shoulders and elongated arms to allow ease of movement. The jacket has two large pockets, a waist drawcord, velcro adjusters at the sleeves, a large hood and a taffeta slippery back with side zip for ventilation and to help when taking the jacket on and off.
